Fischertechnik Interfaces
Fischertechnik interfaces and models are available from Model A Technology, the official representative for Fischertechnik in the USA
(www.fischertechnik.com
tel: 209-575-3445.)
Flowol 3 supports both the older Fischertechnik Intelligent Interface (Serial only) and the newer Fischertechnik
Robo Interface (Serial or USB).
The Fischertechnik interfaces are great with the Fischertechnik construction kits. Inputs and Outputs
are connected via 9volt 2mm sockets. [Note, Flowol only supports the Fischertechnik interfaces in online mode].
| Interface | Connection | Inputs | Vals | Motors |
| Intelligent Interface | Serial | 8 | 2 | 4 |
| Robo Interface | Serial or USB | 8* | 4* | 4* |
* Flowol supports the additional inputs/outputs on the Robo Extension modules.
To connect the Robo Interface via USB, the USB device driver needs to be installed. If you have
already used your Robo interface via USB with other control software, then the device
driver is likely already installed. Otherwise, download the following FtLib_V1_61a.zip
file from the Fischertechnik website
http://www.fischertechnik.de/de/computing/download/zip/FtLib_V1_61a.zip and
extract it to a folder on your hard disc, e.g. C:\FtLib_V1_61a. Then when you first
connect the Robo via USB, Windows will attempt to find and install the device driver.
It will unlikely be able to find it, so you will need to choose to specify the location
to search. Provide the path to C:\FtLib_V1_61a\Driver (assuming you extracted to
C:\FtLib_V1_61a)
